By linking the built environment to economic well being, municipalities are working to plan and design communities for people and businesses, in order to:

  • produce long-term community benefits
  • foster economies able to withstand global economic shifts and pressures
  • facilitate municipal “destination” and “place of choice” goals

  • a municipal checklist for use by municipalities of all sizes and types, to help determine how they might position themselves for economic development, competitiveness and resiliency
