Building Code Training
Safe and efficient construction in our communities requires a high calibre of expertise among municipal building officials, builders, design professionals and other Building Code users. Keeping up-to-date on the Building Code also promotes building safety and efficient construction within the province. Those involved in the enforcement of the Building Code Act and Regulations as well as people involved in the design and supervision of construction must also keep abreast of new techniques and current Building Code requirements.
Building Code training is now developed by George Brown College and will be delivered by Ontario’s colleges.
George Brown College is responsible for updating, developing and delivering training courses and self-study manuals under the new edition of the Building Code which comes into force on January 1, 2014. These training opportunities support building practitioners wishing to take Building Code examinations. The successful completion of these examinations is required to become qualified and registered under the Building Code Act. Building Code training also supports professional development in the building sector.
