BUILDING CODE COMMISSION DECISION ON B.C.C. #93-19-375

IN THE MATTER OF BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Ontario Building Code, O/Reg. 413/90, as amended

PART 3,

Clause 3.4.2.3.(1)(a)

Minimum distance between two required exits on a floor area.

COMMISSION RULING:

In favour of the respondent.

Regarding a double swing door in a public corridor separating two exits located at 142-144 Clarence Street, Ottawa, Ontario.

It is the decision of the Building Code Commission that this matter of the deletion of the double swing door in the public corridor does not comply with Sentence 3.4.2.3.(1) of the Ontario Building Code.

REASONS:

The low occupant load is not a consideration in this matter.

Dated at Toronto this 20 day in the month of December in the year 1993 for application number A93-21-377.
