Welcome to OnRAMP

The Ontario Government is responding to the varying needs of municipalities by piloting a regional web portal project – the Ontario Regional Area Municipal Portal (OnRAMP). These web pages are designed to enhance municipal client information and support services. The Northwestern OnRAMP provides an online portal to resources tailored to the needs of municipalities in Northwestern (NW) Ontario.

Municipal Search Tool

The OnRAMP regional search tool has been recently replaced with a search tool created by AMCTO with support from the Ministry. This new search tool allows you to search all municipal websites, or to limit your search to municipal websites within the northwest. In addition, you can search by AMCTO zone, by size of municipality and by northern vs. southern municipalities. Click here to open the AMCTO search tool in a new window.

Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference 2008 – Voices for Change, Partners for Prosperity

The Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference had another successful year, thanks to all of our delegates, speakers, and special guests.

Long Standing Service Awards

Long-standing service awards are given to municipally elected officials with at least 25 years of service. The program was introduced by the Ontario government in 2004. As of 2006, those with 50 years of service are also recognized.

During the Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference 2008, Jim Watson, Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing, presented the provincial long-standing service award to Township of Conmee, Reeve Robert Rydholm and Township of Morley, Reeve Gary Gamsby.

Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) /Asset Management

The Municipal Finance Officers' Association (MFOA) and the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) have collaborated in a strategic partnership to launch this site to provide municipal staff with timely, useful, and accurate advice and information on PSAB changes, asset management, and long-term financial planning.

Provincial Municipal Fiscal and Service Delivery Review

A landmark agreement has been reached to fund social assistance benefit programs and improve services for the people of Ontario.  The agreement is detailed in the Report of the Provincial-Municipal Fiscal and Service Delivery Review, Facing the Future Together, a consensus report of Ontario, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) and the City of Toronto.
