Welcome to OnRAMPMap of Northwest Ontario ImageImage

The Ontario Government is responding to the varying needs of municipalities by piloting a regional web portal project – the Ontario Regional Area Municipal Portal (OnRAMP). These web pages are designed to enhance municipal client information and support services. The Northwestern OnRAMP provides an online portal to resources tailored to the needs of municipalities in Northwestern (NW) Ontario.

Municipal Search Tool Search

The OnRAMP regional search tool has been recently replaced with a search tool created by AMCTO with support from the Ministry. This new search tool allows you to search all municipal websites, or to limit your search to municipal websites within the northwest. In addition, you can search by AMCTO zone, by size of municipality and by northern vs. southern municipalities. Click here to open the AMCTO search tool in a new window.

2009 Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference - Reinventing the North: Seizing the Challenge

MSO-NW, in partnership with NOMA, hosted a very successful 27th Annual Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference (NWORC) September 30th – October 2nd at the Fort William Historical Park, located in Thunder Bay.

Delegates were extremely enthusiastic about this year’s Keynote speaker, Mayor Jay Williams from Youngstown Ohio, who gave a timely and inspiring presentation related to the “Shrinking Cities” phenomena and Youngstown’s experience in coping with and proactively striving to recover from the loss of over half of its 160,000 population due to changes in the US steel industry.

A diverse selection of plenary and concurrent sessions were offered over the one and a half day event, but delegates particularly enjoyed the sessions on Strategic Planning for Northwest Municipalities, Biomass at OPG: Growing Opportunity for Northwest, Social Networking, Trends and Issues Analysis for Northwestern Ontario and the Green Energy Act.
