The Social Housing Unit in Housing Policy Branch makes available an explanatory “Guide to Rent-Geared-to-Income Assistance”. This guide has been revised in some areas to improve accuracy or clarity and accommodate regulatory changes since 2003.
The guide is strictly explanatory in nature. It explains the requirements of the Social Housing Reform, 2000 and its regulations insofar as they pertain to rent-geared-to-income assistance provided under the Act.
Action required:
Please replace any copies of the “Guide to Rent-Geared-to-Income Assistance” as revised December 22, 2003 with the version attached to this notification. If you have distributed copies of the earlier version of the Guide to housing providers, please ensure that they replace them with the current version as well.
Electronic copies of the English and French versions will be available on the ministry’s web site (www.mah.gov.on.ca) within approximately two weeks of this notification.
