Get prepared!
When it comes to managing emergencies, we all have a role to play. Individuals should take steps ahead of time to prepare themselves and their families for emergencies. You should be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for a minimum of 72 hours during an emergency. Different levels of government respond progressively as an emergency escalates and their resources are needed. This site, from Public Safety Canda, offers resources that families can use to prepare for an emergency.
Emergency Survival Kit – How to Prepare:
Emergencies and disasters can happen at any time. Utilities can be out, roads closed, and crucial supplies unavailable. While local, provincial and federal officials prepare for emergencies, individuals can plan to be prepared at home and at work. It just makes sense to prepare for the unexpected. This Emergency Management Ontario site features checklists and a video to help individuals prepare an emergency survival kit.
