The Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program (ODRAP)Other Educational Resources icon is an assistance program designed to help municipalities, individuals, farmers, small business, and non-profit organizations get back on their feet after a natural disaster.  It is intended to cover the costs of returning essential items to pre-disaster condition for people who have suffered damage in designated disaster areas. This page provides a brief description of the program and contains links to tools that municipalities can use.

Continuity of Decision Making: A Toolkit For Municipalities  Other Educational Resources icon is designed to help municipalities enhance their decision-making capability in an emergency.

The Toolkit contains best practices, sample bylaws and a checklist that municipalities may wish to consider in planning for an unexpected event.

The Toolkit was developed by the Continuity of Government Sector Working Group, a collaboration of the Ontario government and municipal and federal representatives with participation from the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Emergency Managers, and four Ontario municipalities.

Disaster Relief Committee Presentations: If your municipality experiences an emergency that causes private damage losses, you may wish to establish a Disaster Relief Committee to coordinate fundraising and settle victim claims. The first presentation is an overview for municipal council about the purpose of a Disaster Relief Committee. The second presentation is targeted for Disaster Relief Committee upon its establishment, and describes members' roles and responsibilities.
