Dr. Robert Elgie
Chair
Greenbelt Council

Dear Dr. Elgie:

Thank you for your letter of February 23, 2007 in which you provide me with the Greenbelt Council’s advice with respect to a possible expansion of the Greenbelt.

I understand the Council advises that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing should develop criteria to determine the areas to which Greenbelt protection should be extended, and that Council would be pleased to review the criteria and provide further advice.

I would like to thank you for providing this advice for consideration should the government decide to extend Greenbelt protection to other areas in the future.

Once again, thank you for writing.

Sincerely,

John Gerretsen
Minister
