On May 15, 2012, Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Kathleen Wynne announced the appointment of Prof. Tony Dean to undertake a review of the governance model of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS). The appointment was based on the recommendation of Ontario Chief Justice Warren Winkler.
Prof. Dean completed his review and submitted his report on January 18, 2013 to Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Bob Chiarelli. Prof. Dean's recommendations in the report are directed primarily to the boards of the OMERS Sponsors Corporation and the Administration Corporation.
