Topics such as the environment, transportation, agriculture, tourism and recreation, and natural resources were discussed during the greenbelt consultation.

The views and ideas collected helped the task force formulate recommendations to the government on how to most effectively establish a permanently protected greenbelt.

Their recommendations helped the government to draft a clear approach for protecting greenspace in the Golden Horseshoe.  The public had a chance to comment on the details of this approach in the fall of 2004.
