Environmental Commissioner's Recognition Award

Email this page

A new ECO initiative in 2000 was the awarding of the first ECO Recognition Award. In the ECO's 1999-2000 Annual Report, the ECO recognized the efforts of MAH staff in educating professionals and the public in order to minimize the impacts of smaller on-site sewage systems more commonly know as septic systems. Please see the ECO's 1999-2000 Annual Report for more details on the ECO Recognition Award. MAH submitted four nominations for 2000-2001 Recognition Awards program. Three of these nominations describe some of MAH's efforts in the Award category "achieving the goals of EBR": Brownfields Showcase, Data Integration Project, and Revitalizing Cornwall's Waterfront and Industrial Heritage. The fourth nomination describes MAH's Instrument Training program which is an example of how the ministry has improved "internal EBR processes", the second Award category.
