Energy Efficiency and the Affordable Housing Program
The AHP-Energy Efficiency Program was created in early 2007 as a joint initiative of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) , and Natural Resources Canada. This program promoted the purchase of certain energy efficiency products made between September 2006 and September 2007. All applications for financial incentives were due by October 31, 2007. There were 31 projects eligible for financial incentives. In total 848 households were assisted, representing over 1,700 people.
Further energy efficiency funding is available through the High Performance New Construction Program that was launched by the OPA and Enbridge on March 26, 2008.
