Ontario Regulation 339/01 section 32 outlines the annual cost indices to be used for Section 106 (100% RGI) housing providers. The cost indices for electricity and natural gas are reviewed annually and adjusted in accordance with changes in the Consumer Price Index. The percentage increase will be published annually in Table 3 of O.Reg. 339/01.
Non-Profit=s Responsibility
All Section 106, 100% RGI non-profit housing providers must use the cost factors specific to their service manager area as listed in Table 3 of O.Reg. 339/01. The cost factors are to be used for the calculation of operating subsidy requirements for the fiscal year beginning in 2007. The formula for determining subsidy is found in subsection 106 (2) of the Social Housing Reform Act, 2000.
The utility figures were filed in an amending regulation on September 26, 2006. The amounts will be as follows:
Electricity 10.32%
Natural Gas 23.79%
Service managers and housing providers are to discuss and set all other costs items.
