The approval authority for Planning Act applications in your municipality varies depending on the municipality and the type of planning application. Contact your municipality to determine who is the approval authority for your particular planning application and to obtain copies of planning application forms.  The approval authority could be either the province, the municipality or a planning board, if there are any in your area.  The Restructuring Maps of Ontario and the NE Planning Boards page can help you determine where to apply.

If you are from an unincorporated area, outside of an organized municipality, you may contact the Northeastern Municipal Services Office for information and application forms.  They can help you determine who to contact.  Or, you can consult the list of Planning Approval Authorities for more information.
